Born on 9 November 1974 in Mulshi taluka, Murlidhar Mohol grew up in Kothrud and earned his B.A. from Shivaji University, Kolhapur. His public life began at age twelve through the Sangh. As Mayor of Pune from November 2019 to March 2022, he took the city into Bloomberg Philanthropies' 50 Champion Cities and made decisive contributions to Pune Metro and the Mula-Mutha river clean-up. In 2024 he won the Pune Lok Sabha seat by a margin of over one lakh votes and joined the Union Council of Ministers in his very first term.
